Parked exactly where we left them yesterday when we pulled in - loaded and ready to go.
It's 41 degrees here in South Lake Tahoe this morning so we are dressed for the cold.
Now THAT'S a breakfast that'll get you down the road!!  Things got warmer fast as we descended down the Kingsbury Grade so we stopped to get out of the winter riding gear at the IHOP in Carson City.  This is their Big Steak Omelet with jalapenos (not as good as the one from exit 14 in Cheyenne 9 years ago but damn close).  I got most of it down.
There are several sights like one this along this stretch of road.  I had to stop here because Oasis is one of my words for the dictionary.  We had to slam on our brakes and turn around since we were going by at about 80 mph.  www.fotodictionary.com
Our route today was mostly Hwy 50 across Nevada.  This has been dubbed the Loneliest Road in America.  For such a ominous moniker we actually enjoyed the ride; at least until we left Ely.  We dodged and weaved around a couple of rain showers on the way to Ely and when we came out of the diner where we ate lunch, Jeremy pointed out that the sky was black where we had just come from.  Leaving Ely we started into the Great Basin area and things got pretty hot right quick.  Jeremy learned the meaning of the saying, Just say NO to crack filler.  It's just tar and when it gets hot it's slipery; a trait more than a little bit undesirable when cornering a motorcycle.  We stopped at Best Buy to correct the technical difficulty issue and pulled into Jeremy's parents drive after 11.5 hours on the road.
Not too many pictures today, just ride and try to get the miles behind you.
