This part of the country is where you'll find this Monument as well as Crazy Horse (which is still under construction).  We decided to ride to Rushmore but not to bother with Crazy Horse.  When we found out that it was going to be ten bucks to get in it wasn't worth the time that was going to be involved or the money - so, we turned around and just snapped a couple shots from the street and were back on the road to Denver.
The JB Weld is holding up just fine and I seriously doubt that it will fail since it didn't fail on the road between Chadron, Nebraska and Alliance, Nebraska.  That has to be one of the roughest paved roads I've ever been on - I think I chipped a tooth!!
Up late last night with the Toby Kieth concert and all so we didn't get packed up and on the road until 8:00 this morning.  Additionally, more rest stops were required along the way.
Reflections from the road.....
It is such a fulfilling experience to be traveling through the farm country in the heartland of the United States.  Wide open spaces, fresh air, and the road all to yourself.  A road worker that had us stopped for some construction just out of Ojai said it the best, "You guys are livin the dream."
The day was getting long and although we had planned to go on down to Kansas and add that as one of the states for this ride, we didn't want to get to our home for the evening that late so around Alliance, Nebraska we just headed for Denver via the most direct and quickest route.
